Mr Brian (Drac) Draper
It is with deepest sadness that I have to report the passing of our President, Mr Brian (Drac) Draper MBE.
Brian bravely made the trip to Medicina a short while ago and he had a strong desire to be at our Annual Reunion, but it is not to be. Brian will be remembered and honoured at our event.
FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS
PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF TIME - NOW 2:20pm (1420Hrs)
The Service will be held on Friday 22nd May at 2.20pm, at the Accrington Crematorium on Burnley Road Accrington BB5 6HA. With a reception after at the Whitakers Arms, which is across the road from the entrance to the Crematorium.
At Brian's wishes Denny hopes that his friends will be able to join the family in sharing this sad event.
There is an urgent need to know what numbers of you will attend. Can you please, if you are coming, reply via this Forum, via Facebook, or by email (hussar1420@gmail.com), or phone me, so that I can pass on numbers to Denny.
No flowers. Donations to the Army Benevolent Fund.
PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF TIME - NOW 2:20pm (1420Hrs)

Re: Mr Brian (Drac) Draper
As a young soldier I never saw him once without a smile on his face, even though at that time he had to put up with the likes of big rotty in the Naafi. Throughout his service no matter what the situation was he was still smiling. A man who proved that it was possible to achieve rank . Every time I met him he would come across to talk. Condolences to Denny and Family at this sad time.

Re: Mr Brian (Drac) Draper
Brian was one of those characters who stood out above the rest. 14th/20th through and through. He'd been there, seen it, and done it. Always smiling, fair minded, and open to suggestion. What more can you ask. He really will be missed by all those who knew him. My condolences to Denny and her family.

Re: Mr Brian (Drac) Draper
The lasting memory we will have of Drac was how brave and proud he was carrying the Medicina flag at the Cemetery and carrying it round the town of Medicina. It was a great moment for him and a great memory for us. Denny was so brave too and we really felt for her.
We send our sympathy and love to Denny and the family.

Re: Mr Brian (Drac) Draper
Drac talked me into staying in the Army back in 1983. We joked about that over the years. Glad he did that as I got to stay in the family and got to know 'the man' better over the years. After amalgamation a few of us would go into his office (QM) and quietly sing together "Sussex by the sea".
As civvies we met up on the odd occasion and when he came to Calgary we had a bit of a do.
Drac - Brian - Sir - what an iconic HUSSAR he was. Tomorrows 1st parade up on the tank park in heaven will be the best ever. RIP.
Condolences to all his family and friends.
