I first met Sticky in 1968, B Sqn in Paderborne, and remember some great times with him in Hong Kong and at our reunions.

He will be sadly missed by all of us and my sincere condolences to his family

Old Comrade Mick Stowell known as Sticky has rejoined the Tank Park in the sky.

So make room for his elbow at the bar and dust off sand bags its his turn to tell the tales of the Glory Years and catch up with his mates who have gone before and to make ready to greet his friends who will come along later.

To his Family we extend our respects to their loss but they know he has now been received backto the heavenly arms of his comrades

Sorry to hear of Sticky's passing. One thing is for sure, he was a character and you don't get a lot like Mick. Remember putting him and Nick Coupe up before the Squadron Leader in Paderborn, after they spent one too many afternoon visits to the "back bar", instead of being on the tank park. I spent the next few weeks watching my back, not wanting to meet him if he had been drinking. Such a Jekyll and Hyde character, in my experience, he was most intelligent and sensible when sober, but a complete mess when drunk.

Although I saw him at many Blackpool and Southport reunions, I can't remember him being around much when the evening event came.

Regardless, he'll now be free of any pain. RIP Mick, and condolences to your family. You'll still be talked about in years to come.

RIP Sticky,

Mick used to be my Commander in D Sqn, a colourful time in my Regimental Life without a doubt. Many a time I had made a brew and he said he wanted a proper drink so across went the bottle out of the orange suitcase and that was at 5, o clock in the morning!

Did not always hit it off but he was a character I shall miss seeing at the reunions.

RIP Sticky Mate

Mac

R.I.P. Sticky you will be sadly missed by a lot of people had the privilege of serving in the same troop in D Sqn and spent many a hour or two in the German canteen together. Also glad I got to see you a few times in Preston hospital where it looked as if you would pull through but at least you are at peace now.

Sincere regards and deepest condolences to your family.
