I'm trying to put a face to the name (I think I know the face but I'm not sure). I think Dave was one of those who had a small group of aquaintances that knew him well, but to others he was just one of the many, you didn't get to know very well.

Sincere condolences to Dave's family. R.I.P. Dave.

Solly,

I believe your Image (IMG 3811) @ the 2009 reunion ( Reunion 13 ) is of Dave.

[quote="Bob_H"]We've received this sad news from Dave's son, Vince.

My father David Blocke died yesterday in hospital. He served in the regiment for many years, mostly as the regimental farrier. He was a regular attendee at your reunioins I am sure his passing will bring back many memories for many of your members of the bugger he was in his youth.

David John Blocke 14th/20th King's Hussars 1954-1982

Our sincere condolences go to Vince and the family.

Seeing the news today of Dave's passing fills me with a deep sadness, I new him well from my time in the stables in Herford.

A lovely man, very proud of his Kentish roots.

I have an abiding memory of being driven at a terrifying speed along the autobahn (Should not of been capable of those speeds?) in a souped up old Fiat that he'd spent months fixing up.

He was also a very good farrier, God bless Dave.

Dave Blocke was a very good mate of mine in Hohne, had me a time in the stables with Blockie and our travels with the polo team in Berlin, back home in Hohne it was that cold he set fire to my servicing bay, a good friend which will be greatly missed by me.

That NAFFI queue is getting longer and longer
Rest in peace my friend, To his famliy I am very sorry for your los
