Sorry to hear this sad news. Roy was always there but in another Squadron. Remember his dry wit.

Condolences to Maureen and the family at this time.

Will always remember Roy as he was, a guy to look up to, admire and envy his qualities. Never met him again after I left the Regiment but he obviously put his mark and earned the respect and affection of a whole new generation of friends.
As usual will be sorely missed. RIP Roy and condolences to his family.
Arnie.

This from Johnny Marcelle:

Hello all Hawks. It is a terrible thing to lose someone from a family! For that is what we are, a Family of HAWKS.

Like so many of you, Roy was in one of my Troops as a brilliant Armoured Driver, of all types of vehicles. Fun to be near with a sharp turn of dry-wit. He was dependable & could tackle any job given to him to which he would do it properly as many of you know. A brilliant artist. A complete All Rounder. We had our "ups & downs" as I did with many of you and like you all it never stopped him giving his best. As I have said of many others, Roy is NOT gone! because his memory will live on FOREVER!! John Marcelle

Over 80 of us attending the service, followed by an excellent reception, assured Roy of a deserving send-off.

Maureen would like to express her appreciation and thanks to everyone who gave words of comfort and of tribute to Roy by speaking to her, by sending cards, or by recording messages via our website.
