Medicina 2020

Post by Bob_H » Fri Aug 09, 2019 10:41 am

Next year sees the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Medicina, a major milestone in its history.

In 2012 and 2015 I organised trips to Italy in order to properly celebrate with the locals of the town who offer us a great welcome. On the first occasion our stay was in the seaside resort of Lido di Jesolo (Venetia) and the second at the lovely historic city of Ravenna.

Every person who made those trips thoroughly enjoyed them.

It's important to say that this isn't just a military trip. With a stay of 5-7 days (April 11th-18th or 13th-17th likely) planned there are lots of opportunity for couples/singles to make this a real early-year holiday.

If you're interested let Wiggy know. Any questions, ask them here or with Wiggy (

Thank you.

Would anyone wishing to go to the 75th Anniversary please contact Paul Wigmore direct on 07528927266 or at

The proposed dates of travel are 13th-17th April 2020, Flying to Bologna direct from Manchester, Leeds and Gatwick.

Costing's will be finalised once numbers are agreed, and as previously group booking looks be the best option.

Paul has spoken to the KRH who are attending the event with a detachment of troops.

It is planned for a coach to meet us at the airport to travel to Ravenna and transport us to the graves on the 15th April and to Medicina Day plus returns to the return flights.

There will be a hosted evening provided by the Regimental Association on the evening of the 15th after returning from the graveyard visit.

Please contact Paul soonest so He can organise flights, hotels etc.

Now we have dates please indicate your interest in attending as above to confirm ! A.S.A.P.

Many thanks.
