REGIMENTAL NORTHERN REUNION
AND REMEMBRANCE SERVICE 11th/12th NOVEMBER 2017
General. The Northern Reunion for 2017 will be held in the Barton Grange Hotel, Garstang Road, Barton, Preston on Saturday 11th November 2017, followed by the Annual Remembrance Service on Sunday 12th November 2017, in the Church of St Lawrence, Barton.
The Reunion. The evening will take the form of a Dinner, to be held in the Grange Room. The maximum number to be seated at Dinner will be 90 and as the meal is always excellent and served to a high standard we hope for a good attendance. General Sir Richard Shirreff KCB CBE will be attending for the last time before he hands over as Colonel of the Regiment at the end of the year. Those who do not wish to sit down for dinner but would like to meet up with friends are welcome to attend and meet in the main hotel bar adjacent to the reception area from 2000hrs.
The Remembrance Service. On Sunday morning the Remembrance Service will be held in the Church of St Lawrence, Barton. The marching party will form up in the hotel car park before marching the short distance to church. Immediately after the Remembrance Service we are expecting to inter the ashes of WO2 Johnny Marcelle (14/20H) into the Columbarium. Please note that the Boars Head pub, adjacent to the church, has closed and the car park is longer available for use. Those attending the service are asked to park in the far side of the Barton Grange car park (on the left as you enter), please do not use the car park in front of the hotel, unless you are a guest of the hotel.
Programme. Dates and timings are as follows:
Annual Reunion Dinner – Saturday 11th November 2017
1900 hrsReception for those sitting down to dinner.
2000 hrsReception for those who are not dining.
0100 hrsBars close.
Remembrance Service – Sunday 12th November 2017
1000hrsForm up in the car park outside The Barton Grange Hotel.
Dress. Dress is as follows:
DinnerSuits or Blazer/Slacks with tie, no medals. (Note: Not Black Tie)
SocialSmart casual (No jeans)
Sunday Morning Remembrance Service
Suits or Blazer with Regimental tie and medals.
This is our wreath we shall be laying in the Regimental Chapel in St Lawrence Church Barton.
