IAN LEEMING - an update

Ian is undergoing treatment through the Weldmar Hospice in Dorchester.

In a nutshell last year he had a series of operations having been diagnosed with bowel cancer. He then spent many weeks travelling to Poole hospital for chemo/radiation treatment. This relieved the symptoms somewhat and he believed it was clear, so much so that he had some golf days and he felt up beat. Sadly the cancer has returned. Weldmar Hospice provides excellent palliative care for patients and family.

Mick Burgess popped in to see him last week he seemed in good spirits, his wife Tina joined him for lunch and she said that the doctors had said he can go home for a couple of hours now and again.

We spoke to Tina last week as hoped Ian would be well enough to attend the SW Reunion and heard he was in the hospice for a few days and due home then. Glad I spoke to Tina as whenever we speak to Ian he says he is fine!!
He's certainly a fighter as was Drac, bless him. So sad but he'll be well looked after in the hospice and they'll make sure he is pain free.
