The current topic is the festival of Barbarossa (Emperor responsible for the naming of the city):
The whole city is ready to welcome the return of the Emperor Barbarossa for the 2013 edition of the festival Medicina par excellence.
From 12 to 15 September, the Feast of the Twinning , which culminates in the reenactment of Barbarossa , will give rise to a succession of medicine shows, entertainment and many new features .
The Festa del Barbarossa , organized by Pro Loco of Medicine and sponsored by the City and the Province of Bologna, the Emilia Romagna Region and the STAI Company Area Tourism Imola , recalls every year the legend according to which the Hohenstaufen Emperor Frederick I Barbarossa said , he fell ill with passage in these lands , healed thanks to a broth in which a snake had fallen renaming for this reason the City, for the ' precisely , Medicine.
The feast of the Twinning begins Thursday, September 12 with the traditional concert of the Municipal Band of Medicine , at 20.00 in Piazza Garibaldi, followed by a boxing exhibition organized by ASD Boxing Club Medicine .

Sunday, September 15 (opening of the festival 12.00 , admission € 5 ) . At 15.30 , in Piazza Andrea Costa , " Hell et Paradise" , the Whores play football with bandits, ex-prisoners and all who have the courage to challenge them . At 17:30 , the great historical parade and ceremony to welcome the Emperor.
At 18:30 , in the Cloister of the City , " Joey and pains of the Middle Ages " , Bologna stories told for images with Roberto Martorelli .
At 19.30 , in Piazza Coast , the "Supper of the beggars ."
At 20.00 , the play " A journey of a Twenty " in the Cloister Hall.
The Procession of the people in greeting Barbarossa will kick off at 21:00.
Music and entertainment from 21:45 , to 23:00 greeting and closing of the festival.
The streets of the center and on the stage in Piazza Garibaldi, throughout Saturday and Sunday from noon till night , parades, hawkers, jugglers , stilt walkers , drummers , musicians, jesters , archers, duelists , warriors , old crafts , prostitutes and flag bearers , all accompanied by as many as twenty-one dining with typical groceries and goodies.
