Well done Al. If I had had the flag two years ago when my wife and I did the same tour, I would have done the same...great pics. Will try for Mount Rushmore next time..!! Returning to the 'booze' outings...anyone remember the visit to the Tiger brewery in Singapore?? Can vaguley remember the start of sampling.. but not a cat in hell's chance of how we returned to Mektila Barracks...

Keep 'em Sharp

Another from Paul:

This picture was taken inside the millennium stadium in Cardiff. We tried to get it televised, not sure if it was or not? We took many pictures around Cardiff but I think this is enough!

Latest from Paul:

In the magnificent Olympic Park today I met Boris Johnson who was very inquisitive about the regiment, telling him about Noahs Arc and the history of the regiment (quick version). I also spoke to one of his CP team who said he served with the regiment in Catterick, I believe he was a squadron leader but I didn’t go into much detail as I was trying to catch Boris (he was attached to the regiment, not 1420H cap badge?). The gentleman with Boris and I is the chap that paid for the ‘orbit’ structure in the Olympic Park I believe his name to be Lakmir Mital?

I also asked one of the Met to pose with me he was formally a Para.

Inside the basketball arena during the ladies Turkey Vs Angola match I had the flag on display also again trying to get it seen on TV.

The first picture is with the Olympic stadium in the background with Emily and I holding the flag.

Superb Paul. I love the one with the Mayor of London.
Well done.

It was a fantastic day out and I would highly recommend it to you all, even had a snap holding the Olympic torch. The park is massive and my legs only just made it, so much pain. We've had a great few days Cardiff and then London. Off on holiday to Rhodes next weekend for a week not sure what’s there but we will have to see what I can do with the Flag there!!

Oh, and thanks Bob, it must be a pain getting everyones pictures.

This from Kevin Whittaker:

Had a long weekend in Chester and came across this statue which I though was very apt for us. The inscription reads ' Erected in Honor of Stapleton Cotton Viscount Combermere Field Marshal', together with all his battles fought during the Peninsula Wars. General Stapleton Cotton was the Brigade Commander of the 14th Light Dragoons at Talavera, Fuentes d'Orno and Salamanca and was instrumental in authorising the battle honours for the regiment and issued orders for the regiment to 'Invest the enemy'...
