Arboretum Progress

Post by Bob_H » Tue Jul 01, 2014 10:18 pm

I'm very pleased to announce that, at last, the 14th/20th King's Hussars will be represented by more than a lolly-stick at the National Memorial Arboretum.

At a KRH Trustees' Meeting, it was decided that a KRH Memorial would be erected at the National Memorial Arboretum, to recognize those members of the KRH, and its predecessor regiments, who served. It is hoped that it will be ready to be installed in the early Autumn 2014 and you will be informed when it will occur.

Additionally, an individual Paving Stone dedicated to the 14th/20th bearing our cap badge will be installed into Heroes Square at the NMA. A fund of £2000 has been raised by ex-members of our Regiment (via the Noah's Arc Account) and this will be incremented to £3000 by the King's Royal Hussars Regimental Association. The small committee who have accepted the role of supervising the 1420H Arboretum Fund (Brian Draper MBE, Darryl Cartwright and Johnny Morris, led by Bob_H) have now released the funds for the procurement of the stone.

A surplus of £330 remains in the fund and the committee will make recommendations for its future use soon.

The proposed engraved cap badge is mounted atop a scroll as below:
