Just an enquiry?

When is the wake being held for the Great NOAHs Arc?? I know that everyone now uses Facebook but I thought we were all multi-taskers, why let NOAHs Arc die, which it seems to have done??

Quite true Arnie. But I hope you are wrong. Seems only old Hawks from Aus and Canada are looking in.

Hi Yall, I too look in every day. My opinion is that Age is simply a number and that you are as old as you imagine you are. I and the wife are in a retirement village and I volunteer (I know NEVER volunteer) and drive what is called the 'Junibug', a 6 seater Golf Buggy. I drive around the village picking up anybody walking who wants to be taken to their destination within the village. Many of the old folk set off walking but find after a while that they are tired and need a rest from the 'exercise'. To save the batteries, whenever there are no people walking around the premises I park up and wait for a phone call asking to use my services. While I am sat peacefully doing a Xword (cryptic of course (God I miss The Telegraph)) every body walking past where I sit at the centre of things, stops and chats to me. One guy comes on his gopher and sits with me. I thought he was a lonely old guy who loves to chat looking for some company. Seriously, he looks much older than I do ( am 79), but he is only 61. You can imagine who does all the talking, he was born in Perth,WA and has never been further than 100ks from the centre of the city. I have to confess I did look forward to getting phone calls which requested my picking someone up, but he followed me on his gopher, but last week he was in hospital and I really did miss chatting to him. We all get old but I did like chatting (lecturing really) to you all. See I am at it again.

As for me I got the impression that I was boring people because my last few posts got no replies. As Quassi used to say: if it's interesting people will pick up on it. Na, ja, I'm not that blind and deaf that I can't take a hint. Anyway we are still heavily involved in moving. Not yet sold our small-holding but found a nice flat so took the bait. Now we shall be able to just close the door and head South in Winter. Very different to having livestock and crops to look after. Not changed our attitude towards anything but have simply accepted that we can't save the world. In fact, nobody can !

Still waiting for our caravan to be repaired, unbelievable, four damage assessments since last November: 3000,++ 5,000,++ 8,000,++ and now 10,000,++; why anybody thinks that the Krauts are efficient is beyond me. If you think that British politics are in a mess check out Germany's SPD, which is a part of the ruling coalition. The government is likely to collapse in late summer ... watch this space !

No, not forgotten Brexit either ! Sadly Mrs May turned out to be a European spy. I (stupidly) gave her my backing believing that even her bad deal was better than the alternatives: which we are now experiencing. The words "It's my deal or no deal" and "we are leaving on the 29th of March" just go to prove what a bunch of lying twats politicians are. The alternatives: Boris or Michael Gove, two self confessed (ex ?) junkies who have both previously passed laws which have put thousands of common citizens behind bars for doing exactly what they themselves also did, now want May's job; does it not make you sick ? Law abiding ... They (all politicians) changed the law within days, which they had only recently previously passed, which obliged us to leave the EU on the 29th of March; does that not prove beyond all doubt that they can do what they fancy and we, the common folk are criminalized for dropping litter, speeding or demonstrating against their evil doings.

Somebody is reported to have said "forgive them, for they know not what they do", how right that somebody was !

One more sickening reality (that will put the cat amongst the pigeons): All of this wonderful REMEMBRANCE of the 75th anniversary of the Normandy landings, and how those arse creeping politicians and the Royals dare to talk of 'Our fallen heroes' ... and the few heroic survivors. Where are they when it comes to helping the thousands of former service people of more recent conflicts who live on the streets TODAY ???? (Young Harry excepted). Where were they over the decades as 'The old men who walked the streets of London' (and the rest of the UK's streets) died of cold, hunger, illnesses and broken hearts, deserted by those who sent them to war !!!
They would rather give terrorists an amnesty and continue for decades to persecute soldiers for (perhaps) being over enthusiastic. They ... and the legal system that they created support and pay a fortune of tax payers money to scumbag, robbing, solicitors to demonize and prosecute soldiers for trying to do their job in impossible circumstances.

They are not up to the task of leadership and so they can not expect people to follow them :(

All true Bill, it's always been the same (don't do as I do, do as I say.)
You only have to look at that fat bastard SMITH,  to see the cover ups from those on high. Police told you can't arrest him (Smith) he is to important. lets give him a Knighthood instead.
The rope would be to good for him and all of his kind.
And all the MPs who are in it for the money, just one big westminster piggy bank for them. And not to do as they are asked by the voters. What do the public matter to them, apart that is when it's election time. then it's see what I can do for you, and we, or I will do do our best for education, police, NHS, homeless or any other hot topic. And what do they do NOWT, apart from getting more money in there grubby little mitts
rant over.

Yippee! this is more like it. Down to earth discussions, creating ideas and putting them forward for all to see and cogitate over. We have a selection of all sides of the spectrum. I am glad to see that whatever side you are all on, servicemen and women, and veterans are always at the forefront of your thoughts.I WONDER WHY THEY CALL THE SERVICES "OUR (SECOND) FAMILY". I am proud to have been a part of this wonderful, never ending 'esprit de corps'
Hussar!!!

Hi there,
Welcome back Bill. Agree with everything you wrote. On a positive note the conservatives got back in power here in Alberta......within 10 days as they promised they kicked out the carbon tax ( what a load of bollocks). Started to get oil and gas flowing and warned BC if they don't play ball Alberta will stop sending oil to BC which will have a huge impact. Want our oil then allow the pipelines through BC.....quite simple.
Europe is a mess. Not seen snow for 3 weeks so I think summer is on its way, we missed spring - again !
