Arnie.

You can keep your heat it is much better over here knowing you can go to the bog without fear of a funnel web spider biting you delicate parts. And it is much easier lying on the lawn without a long poisonous stripy thing wriggling through the grass. :D :D :D

Pinky, OOhh!, You are awful.
Funnily enough I have a sister-in-law called Annie. But she married an alcoholic called Tom Nally, now deceased, making her A Nally. (Can you imagine the nicknames one would acquire)
Now theres a name I would not want.

27, the only slippery, wriggly things I have were in Zoo's, except for the ones crossing roads and they suddenly take on a 'tyre' tread pattern across their necks. Funnel web spiders are only found around Sydney, in NSW. We get Red Backs over here but they are normally NOT fatal, hurts you, but not fatal.

Whenever we were on exercise in Bengahsi or Tripoli we would catch a scorpion, cut the tail off and put it on the face of any one that was having a nap, we all knew about it but it still scared the life out of you when it happens to you, especially if you had just had a few Tennents. By the way after a taste of the hot weather out there I have never been envious of those who live in hot climates.

'mm, I had been sniffing into the south wind to see if there was a familiar stink, have been wondering where you were hiding. Tie me Kangaroo down sport, tan me hide, and all of that Aussie stuff. Glad to get confirmation that you are still breathing !

If I were to sweat as much as you, the drops would not even reach the keyboard, except for the past two days we have been getting down to well below -10 every night, peaking at -15°C, so the sweat would freeze before landing. As of tonight we are back into the subzero's again, I suppose that's the privilege of being an Ossie (East Kraut).

I was shocked and horrified to read Sammy's input, a decent clean living chap like him murdering God's creatures. Didn't you know that you can milk them ? Though I wouldn't recommend drinking their milk ! Now how many scorpions would you have to milk to get a pint ?

Good to see so much input for a change :D :D :D

Bill, why shocked and horrified? never thought of my self as being to good to sin, I'm just as bad as another person, probably worse than most .

Sammy,

you always seem to take the moderate line of a clean living christian, not like myself or Arnie who don't do or want to be either.

I speak as I see and it's not easy to see where we humans are not ruining everything we can get our hands on. I recently saw a report that there are more than 3000 pieces of human junk orbiting the earth, some as big as a bus. When, in my youth, I was a climber I always, always brought all of my rubbish back down the mountain with me. While I was never anywhere near Everest, I understand that you don't need a map or compass to reach the top, you just follow the trail of rubbish. Micro plastics have been found in the deepest parts of the oceans, contaminating creatures that we have not even had the chance to label with a name and probably, now, never will be able to.

I'm not implying that I have never done anything wrong: Like almost everyone on exercise on the Lunebergerheide I used to sweep the May-beetles out of the air with my mess-tins; these days they are as rare as rocking-horse-shit ! The more humans = less of every other living organism but almost nobody wants to see the truth and so nobody is actively doing anything to stop the increase in the worlds human population. Except to provoke one another into conflict = war, which does not stop or even slow down the increasing numbers. What war will do though is eliminate ever more none human organisms, and so it goes on, until it is all gone !

I can almost hear Arnie thinking ... a few fewer Tree-Huggers might be a step in the right direction

When I was a youngster we used to shoot wildcats and would get paid 10 bob for the tails from the police station. Wildcat were classed as vermin because they would take the lambs. I knew no better at my young age.

Bill,

I always knew it. You are superhuman, well in the hearing department anyway. Hear me 'thinking'. Thought only Brenda could do that and she is in the next room. You on the other hand are still in the vicinity of Berlin. Arn't ya???

Never did any mountaineering, if you discount climbing Teufelsberg or the Jebel South of Tripoli leading to Garyan, where the famous lady was(?) dont know how she fared under Gadhafi, or those who replaced him.

No, Bill, tree huggers could be re-educated, we would need some experts from North Korea who mastered the technique, whereas the other enemies of Arnie are too numerous to mention. No not war, it would be what happened to Alan Turing, of Enigma Code breaking fame, he was 'chemically castrated'. Angela's Gaste non-arbiters would scuttle back to the middle-east or Africa where they come from PDQ.

On the subject of the pollution of Mt Everest, surely the worst pollution is from the trail of bodies, of necessity, left there when they failed to climb it.

Bill, at least we got some activity going again on the NOAHS ARC.

Arnie.

With the location of Everest being mainly in Buddhist Countries I always thought the leaving of the dead on the mountain was the equivalent of a Buddhist sky burial. They normally take their dead high up mountains and leave them for the vultures to dispose of. This saves money on coffins and energy digging graves just my thoughts not every ones.

Tony,

I understand its because it is dangerous enough getting up to where they died and carrying a body down would be doubly dangerous, and foolhardy. Again, I understand that anybody undertaking this idiotic endeavour, knows what their fate is if they fail and are prepared to take the risk!!!!
