Rogues gallery

Post by Boots O'Lead » Fri Jul 04, 2008 6:03 pm

Hi all,

Looking at this pic the other day and it bugged me when I couldn't put names to some of the faces. This is D Sqn about April 85 and I've put a list of who I can remember down below, can you fill in the gaps (or correct my abysmal memory). The big picture should be in the gallery soon.
(Bigger pics here now: http://www.1420h.org.uk/photos/page54/page54.html - Bob_H)

Hi,

you are well off with the year, this is definitely not 1985! I will look at the big picture and get back to you with names.

Cheers, Ned

John, so confident but so wrong :D

I went to D Sqn in late '84 (Nov I think) and stayed until the move to Catterick which was mid '85 so that pretty much narrows things down a bit.

Jonah

cheers mate, not sure you've got the right line for Bob Mullen, I think he may be row 3 no 9. I'm fairly certain that this pic was taken just before the regt started to break up to go to Berlin/Catterick and assorted postings, so maybe Dave and Joe weren't there.

The one that really grips me is the bloke stood next to me, looking at the photo I can remember his mannerisms and voice but I just can't put a name to him.

As the names come in I'll edit the original list, brackets after a ? indicate not sure, brackets in middle of name indicate nickname.

cheers

Jules

Boots, sorry, you're right. I'll claim it as a typo

4th row position 9 looks suspiciously like Dave Lavelle.

I wasn't with the regiment by then so don't know whether he moved from MT.

Hi all
Left D.Sqn in 82 but I think I am right 4th Row No 13 Russ Bradley and the Bob Mullen you refer to is Bob MacMullen.

Jonah
If that was Dave Lavelle he was probably just passing on his way back from the Deutche Kantine and decided to join in
