Re: Tom Baker

As previously stated a very nice man, who stayed calm in difficult situations, and always had time for the younger soldiers problems.

Re: Dave Blocke

I was very saddened to read about Dave. He was a real character, and i had the great pleasure and benefit of serving in the same troop of SHQ A Sqn as Dave throughout Benghazi, Tripoli and UN CYPRUS. If ever you wanted advice "on how to beat and use the system" Dave was your man. Together we bought ...

Re: 14/20 Regt plate

I seem to recall that the 1420H plate purchased for our Colonel-in chief, was bought from a company which had it registered to a milk float.(I think Bill Williams was the instigator)
I bought the "K14XXH" plate which was the nearest to the Regiments title. (unless anybody knows a better one)

Re: Tony Letts

I remember Tony very well, as we were Sgts together in Singapore in 1970
.He had a wicked sense of humour, and moved to BSqn in Hong Kong, when ASqn left early returning to the UK in 1971.
Sincere condolences to the family.

Re: CO's Silver stick_Remember this?

Hi Mac
During your time the Silver Stick was kept in the officers mess on "property"
As for the present location, I am not sure, however whats usually listed on property normally stays on property.
it was never discussed during "amalgamation aspects"

Many congratulations Bob,its mainly due to your initial set up and control, together with our members imput , that makes it such a success
Having spoken to other Cavalry (old soldier) websites, i can honestly say that there is a lot of envy in evidence
