Agree completely Sammy. This shoddy bunch should never have been allowed to start up in the first place especially considering the shameful deals by Tony Blair in pardons for the IRA. Don't suppose legal action will be taken
but here's hoping.

Re: New Assistant Regimental Secretary in HHQ(N)
I retired almost ten years before the amalgamation so never served with the present regiment. I too have had my say about the mentality of merging a good northern regiment with one from the south. At the end of the day though the youngsters of today are wearing the same cap badge I wore and have don...

Re: Forthcoming departure of another Hussar
Seems a lifetime ago since we first met on that B1 radio cadre in Benghazi. A lot of water under the bridge since then and many happy memories. All the best mate to you and your family. God Bless.

Re: VETERAN QUIZ
I joined the regiment from DLOY in 1961 and was posted to "B" Sqn. Went to "C" on promotion in 1969 and after the first NI tour was banished to ERE. Returned to "A" Sqn in '76(seem to remember I took over SHQ from Drac).Lasted about a year then fell out with the Adj, Capt Moger, and was again banish...

Re: Happy Birthday Les
Thanks to you all. Sorry I haven't responded earlier but we have been in Thailand for the last three weeks, arrived back on Wednesday . Spent yesterday recovering from jet-lag. Even with the jet-lag I didn't think I looked as old as some of you cheeky sods think I am. Anyway , thanks again , see you...

Re: Scotlands devolution
Always used to shy away from politics and religion but what the heck-: I had the misfortune to be posted to Scotland for two years. I found out that as an Englishman in Jockland I was responsible for the weather , bad roads, the buses being late , the high price of petrol and countless other things....

First came to know him as Squadron Leader when he arrived in the Regiment, from the Greys if my memory is correct. A good man , one of the best in fact and a pleasure to work for. RIP Colonel.

Re: John Boulter's Tripoli (B Sqn)
Les ? Did Ben Marshall transfer from A to B Sqn during this period, could the Joe Foster picture be Ben. Terry Tasker was our SQMS at this time, Ben I can't remember being there. I just don't recognise the guy although the cap badge could be REME in which case I'd go for Mac Armstrong. It doesn't h...

Re: John Boulter's Tripoli (B Sqn)
Les, Knew you would know everyone. Only thing is Graham Barker isn't a scouse, he's from Leigh/Atherton area. Thought the chap behind Joe Foster looks a bit like Jim Eadsforth I'll not argue about the "Scouse" bit, probably my memory going. I remember him being in assault troop and great friends wi...

Re: National Arboretum Poll
I would dearly love our own 14/20H memorial but I have to agree with Bill, I think the final cost and the sheer amount of red tape put up by the British Legion will stop this in it's tracks. Some of you will know from my earlier posts I was already in contact with the Arboretum Curator on this subje...
