Re: Living History !

The following might be remembered by some of the 'Old Sweats' who were in Benghazi, and it involves the Regiment directly. Some interesting events which happened to me were; during the month of Ramadan (Muslim Holy period, during which all Muslims fast during during daylight and feast and make merry...

Re: Living History !

Hi All Although this is not a segment of my book relating to the 14/20H, this is a teaser from the book. I will however paste a segment of my time in the Regiment in the next few days. It happened as follows: 3 RUC constables and I were enjoying a quiet break in a night of patrolling, and were sitti...

Re: Living History !

Hi yall, being a clerk and steeped in abbreviations I always truly thought it was short for Director Royal Armoured Corps, which seemed a suitable nickname.

Re: Living History !

Hi Bill and all, I would imagine in the age of tech that NOAH's Arc will be a huge source of anecdotal stories for any Historian who wants to write the 'official' history of the magnificent 14th/20th King's Hussars. Me personally, I have been writing 'my' story for several years now. It was original...

Re: Would like some help. Forgotten

Mick, thanks for that but I was asking for the solution to a specific solution. My problem seemed to be that I was writing a long, long submission, as is my want, together with Bill, but I don't type as fast as I used to, consequently it takes a while. It is most frustrating, having spent so much ti...

Re: knife's edge

Pinky, I think "Corrected" would do just as well. So would, but the speed I run at now I am afraid I would just be cannon fodder.

Re: knife's edge

Pinky, Pinky, Pinky, this is precisely why these bastards think they can get away with anything. Just keep the deplorables entertained with any distraction, be it sport, movies or anything. This leaves them alone to scheme, plan, or deal in more and more corruption. J. Edgar Hoover, transvestite had...

Re: knife's edge

(cont.) Yippee! It seems to be working. Bill, if that UN Territorial Waters ruling gets put into practice I imagine it will be a nightmare. The excuse of the Sudanese Pirates use for doing what they do, i.e. Its just a Tax we collect for anyone or thing in transit through OUR waters" will be used by...

Would like some help. Forgotten

Frank, or whoever can help. Is there a time limit for writing a response to a topic. Have just been responding to the topic Knife Adge and when I clicked on "Submit" I was asked to sign in again. Clicking the 'sign in' seems to have erased the whole submission.

Re: HIGHWAY ROBBERY

Hi Bill come to PERTH, Western Australia. Here we have no Toll Roads anywhere. I haven't been to Melbourne or Adelaide for some while, so can't comment, but Tolls are in place in Sydney and Brisbane. Sydney Harbour Bridge was finished in 1932 but the Toll is still on the bridge and also the Sydney H...
