REUNION 8
At last we were blessed with wonderful weather for this year's Reunion in Blackpool. Numbers were a
little down on the previous couple of years but, as ever, a fantastic weekend was enjoyed by all.

Report
Well, we got off to a bad start when we learned that Robin Holland and Ted Morris had been involved
a serious traffic accident as they approached their destination. They made it relatively unscathed
however - although Robin was feeling very sore and opted to return home on the Saturday morning. We wish
them both well - they've promised to make up next year for missing the party.
Once again there were new faces (old faces actually - but you know what I mean!) in Bob Chadwick,
Dave Smethurst, 'Mac' Mcgrath and Vic Spence making their first trips to the Noah's Arc Reunion - they
all vowed it won't be their last. Another late surprise was Captain Byrde, remember him? He was made
most welcome.
Several of our Members missed the event owing to ill-health. We wish them all a speedy recovery.
The hotel opened up the downstairs Devonshire Suite for the disco this year and it was very well
utilised. With the front lounges, the residents bar, the back bar and the Ballroom we were able to
spread ourselves out comfortably.
If you like chicken, chicken and chicken you would have loved the buffet! Masses of it was still
there at midnight and although one or two members tried to see it all off they faced an inevitable
defeat.
For the first time we provided a cash 1st prize of £250 in the raffle. The full list of winners
appears below.
Another memorable weekend and we repeat the exercise on 11th/12th March next year (2005). The
hotel is taking bookings so remember to state 'Noahs Arc' at the time of booking.

Grand Draw 2004 Winners
For the first time the Club offered a sizeable CASH prize to kick off our new-look Annual
Draw. Postal sales did not fare too well and the Committee are looking at sending out our Shy
Talk Newsletter just a few weeks before the Reunion (January) as we feel that many of them get
stuck in the top drawer and forgotten as they have been going out in September/October.
That doesn't take the smile off the faces of the winners of course, who were:
