Committee Response Will Be Published Following The Next Committee Meeting
The Noahs Arc Questionnaire
If you were at the Reunion at The Savoy in April you will have seen our published accounts and become aware
that our finances are not as bouyant as they have been in previous years. In fact this prevented us from bringing
in more stock for our Reunion Shop since we just did not have the funds. Rising prices over the last five years,
when we have kept our ticket price fixed at £20, have had their effect. You may not be aware that for everyone who
attends both Friday and Saturday we pay £24.45 to the hotel, relying on other income (Draw, Shop, Donations, etc.)
to top up the difference.
We clearly cannot continue without change and the Committee have already taken action to cut recurring costs and
introduced a couple of fund-raising events at the Reunion (both very successful in our view).
For this reason we issued a Questionnaire and the results are below.
The Questionnaire is now closed.

Q6. Your Comments? The following comments have been received:
Good Show, Thanks
Friday - Hotpot Supper Please
Savoy Ideal situation - cleanliness, standard of response to issues - poor. Reunion Committee and organisation - excellent. Many thanks.
The Savoy is somewhat "tired" so suggest a change. The Committee know the area better than I. Suggest LSA as it is only other place I am familiar with.
Increase cost to £40 per ticket - look for sponsorship/donations. Thanks for great do!!
We think you do a grand job and would come no matter how things change or whatever the cost!
Always enjoyed.
Thank you for all your hard work to keep this reunion going for us all.
Charge £25 per ticket
Ticket price increase to £25 per head. I do not think anyone could get ALL this anywhere for £25 per head.
Raise the subscription price.
I am happy with the hotel but they certainly need to sort out "housekeeping" listening to some complaints about rooms. Thanks for organising the event.
Buffet or hotpot on Friday night.
Long may the reunion continue
Fantastic night. Well done.
If at Savoy sort sound system
Meal needs to be served 7:30pm not 8:30pm - Too late!
Buffet only on the Saturday
Whatever your decisions you would have my full backing and support. You and the committee always do a tremendous job. Raise the cost to £40 for the 2 nights still tremendous value.
The only word I can come up with is FANTASTIC
Yes it was fantastic it was my 6th and the best. Just a personal thing Having a 4 course meal at that time is not for me,
I would suggest that if we stick with a sit-down meal we must eat earlier.
Give more publicity to the Monthly Subscriptions
You will have my support no matter what we decide to do.
Hotel a good location but catering not good. Pork pie, sausage roll and chicken drumsticks etc. We can perhaps make a profit.
I am quite happy to pay £25
Savoy facilities are excellent - my only disappointment last time was in the lack of cleaning in the room, but I generally spend little time there anyway!
Maybe eat slightly earlier as has been suggested as some of us oldies don't like to eat later in the evening, mainly for reasons of digestion
Disco - Personally I hate them, but any organisation depends on it's younger members to keep it going as we can't all go on for ever, and it would appear that a disco ( or karaoke) is what they like.
Background - Excellent as long as it is kept at an acceptable level, people should not need to shout to be heard.
Auction - Great idea - sounds like everyone enjoyed it, and we all have something to put in , I'm sure
Opt Out - I have memories of Barton Grange where the noise from the "others" in the bar bacame almost overpowering in the dining room - It does indeed create two separate events. Some people may well say they can't afford it, but we all have a year to save up for it. Often those who object to paying for the meal would happily put more than the cost of the meal over the bar!
I would be happy to see an increase to £25 for the tickets
I appreciate as numbers have grown a large venue is a requirement and I only have been once since the venue changed to the Savoy. As a lot of members travel from the South perhaps a venue a little in land if the setting is good may attract a few more to attend.
The committee is doing a very good job, please send me a direct debit mandate for noah's arc
Saturday meal too late, too long, a meal similar to Friday's would be preferable by many members. Also the meal prevented circulating and chatting to a certain extent.
Damn good night congrats to all involved
Please do try to take into account the younger members-we are the ones who have choose to attend knowing that if we don't bother the Noahs Arc reunion will die out. We are not asking for 'loud rowdy disco dancing music' but music that compliments all ages at a reasonable noise level (so people can choose to dance or chat) The organist during dinner was too loud-making it hard to chat around the table. The DJ this year- was he was on another planet? PS also throw the cd or tape in the bin (it was on a loop) -the music was the same Fri night as Saturday.
Food excellent on the Saturday night but did prefer the option of no food Fri night or back to the hotpot. Would be willing to pay £25 per head if it helps the funds.
Did try to buy raffle tickets Friday night to help boost the funds but was told you had run out of them. Many thanks for all your hard work.

Great weekend,no fantastic weekend, BoB H and crew did brill. Only association i know of, that after 17yrs can still pull 250 + old comrades from all over the world to one place for a natter and a drink. 28yrs since i saw any of these chaps, it could have been yesterday. Bob please keep it going.
No Name ID cards I would rather ask the person I am talking to their Name. It wouldn't hurt for the members of the Committee to wear a means of identification.
start meal earlier
Run a raffle every three months £10 per book of tickets, one prize only - free entrance to Reunion. Send book of tickets to all members.
Carvery - if it makes your costs less
The Savoy provides a decent standard of food but the rooms leave a bit to be desired
Hotel has the room to accommodate us (200+)
Parking in the area is not too bad even if their car park is full
i think that because of the lack of funds in the bank for NOAH's ARC then a raise of 5.00 pounds a head would not be to bad.
Stayed at the Savoy last year as a 'taster'. Was not very impressed with the staff and the room's were quite cold despite 'whapping' up the heating. There are better hotels in Blackpool for the same price with better catering and staff.
Savoy is just right for a function like ours. Not 5-star but it's not expensive and in a great location.
