Watch out for the high winds and heavy rain overnight everyone.

Reckon I'm staying home until it's passed :) Let us know how it is where you are?

Very very windy here all day today. Walked along Worthing seafront this afternoon, it was quite a struggle but felt safer against the wind than behind you! Waves were great to watch though. Rain now and calmer but as they say "calm before the storm". We're all prepared with candles and camping gas light at the ready, wheelie bins secured, garden furniture tied up, hoping our chimney doesn't fall in above our bedroom and Wade worrying about the large tree on pavement outside his window. We worked out that probably only the branches would reach him in bed!!

In '87 we slept through it with just a broken tv aerial so fingers crossed all will be well this time too - if it hits us!

Good luck all of you and hope you all get through it safely. will post tomorrow and let you know how we got on down here and hope to hear from you all up there!

Harry and Pam

As I sit here on reception at 07.20 having driven in at 05.30 avoiding trees and wheelie bins nearly every person that has come in has told me its windy out there. As if I hadent noticed.
Tragedy the roof has blown off the smoking shed.

Here in Costa del Westhoughton - a bit of rain overnight, wind - nothing to write home about (more like a breeze, if that). Still, it gives the TV companies an excuse to send some "Dickh**d" reporters out to find something exciting to report. Would just love to see one of them one day, get swept out to sea. Why risk your life and worse still, the lives and safety of others.

Expecting sun and high temperatures here today (well, wishing for them).
Regards

Brian "Solly" Moulton

Pity the 40,000 without power. No wonder it's quiet on here :)

Strong winds and rain overnight but just few branches and trees down and the odd fence down but nothing affecting us much in Worthing.
Terrible for the families of people killed though and all those homes without power in other parts of the country.

Heard on the BBC News the storm has been named St Jude, i only half heard it and thought they had said Sid Jude, he was a bit of a "Hurricane" as a SSM in my day.
