I had a call from Laurie Salkeld tonight. While fishing on Clacton Pier today He was approached by someone asking if he was in the 14/20H it turned out to be Stan Rigg who was with B.Sqn in Herford He lives in Blackpool but hasent heard of NOAH's ARC is anyone in touch with him that can give him details how to join us. He seemed very keen to talk about old friends Such as Big Billy 27 and myself

I think Stan joined B Sqn in Paderborn, he may have left around 75.When he was demobbed he used to drink with Pinky Lomas before he died.Last thing I heard he was driving a taxi in Blackpool.

I think you may have the wrong Stan Rigg. The only one I knew was mine and Billy's generation post Paderbourn rather than Pinky's

Hi Phil,

Stan was indeed from Blackpool, may be he knows the whereabouts of Billy Lee Ex B Sqn, I think they all drank in the Dog and Partridge. I remember when Pinky Lomas was demobbed, they gave him 6 months to live. He lasted a lot longer than that, God loves a trier.

Cheers Dusty

Pinky Lomas. Did he leave from Lulworth.
As for Stan do you recall him before Herford I am sure thats when he Joined us. I am sure there is someone out there with Hawk mags going back to that time I lost mine during my move back in Oct 2011 I think they got left in the old flat which was borded up as soon as we moved to stop Squatters

Went through my copies of The Hawk. My earliest is 1978 but I lent 77 and 76 out to a friend. Barry Horn 14/20th REME att. He unfortunately passed away before I got them back. Any of you old timers remember Barry Horn. He finished in Padders. Gentleman.

I always thought Stan joined the regiment at the back end of Paderborn and left in Herford.

You may well be right I only remember him from 73 onward. It could be that he came to B.Sqn on our return from Hong Kong.
