B Sqn '76 - 81

Postby southerngit » Thu Dec 27, 2012 10:09 pm

Just (finally) joined the site, and looking to see who else is out there that knew me/I knew.
Joined the Regiment at Bovington, and went to radio troop, then KAPE and finally the MDT before moving to 2nd Troop, B Squadron at Hohne, including BATUS and the NI tour in the winter of '78-'79 based in Woodburn.
I was one of the 'Soothern Baas'terds' coming from Sussex, along with the Ford brothers and 'Donkey Delaney'
I was the OC's driver for a while, and the 2IC's driver in Canada, and was in Ginge Mayal's brick in Belfast.
I went ERE to the Air Corps in '80ish, and stayed with them, re-badged until I 'demobbed' in '89.
It would be good to hear from any one from those yeras :-)

Hell, that's a good start, Bulldog, Quassie & Sam! I'd almost forgotten the nick-name 'Cam' but it's nice to get a memory jog like that.
I have some fond memories from my time with the 14/20 and still have a Chieftain as my screen saver :)
I found my old '22B - The Night Hawks' sweat shirt from the NI tour in '78 a while ago, but as it had been in my loft for 25+ years, it was un-salvageable, which is a real shame!
Do we have a contingent at the Cenotaph each year? I go most years but have never seen any 14/20 cap or blazer badges?
I'll go through the rest of the site over the next few days/weeks and try to catch up...... :D

Hi Cam

Glad you finally found us here.

I don't think we have many that go to the Cenotaph in London but most of us pay our respects at one of the Remembrance parades around the country. I usually go to either Preston or more often Manchester.

Regards to all
Johnny Morris

It's good to see all the names from my time with the Hawks, and a for that 'photo, good god, how young were we then? I'm on 14/20 Facebook site as well, and would love to see any old photo's any one has, especially from NI? We are just having a dig out, and have a couple of boxes of photos I need to go through, and then I'll try to post some.
