Do you remember the VPP (Village Penetration Patrol) we did on arrival in Hong Kong? We were told to pick up the transport at the local police station, the transport took the form of 2 donkeys and 2 policemen. We were given 9mm ammo that was still in the original boxes and about 5 metres of Selotape wrapped around to ensure we did not open them! (bearing in mind that we had just completed a 4 month tour of NI and handled ammo every day) We set off on foot, the policemen stopped a passing junk and we boarded it while they took the donkeys to the next village, I remember seeing dog carcasses hanging from washing lines, I think that was going to be supper?
Can't really remember what else we did on that patrol, or who else was on it?
