Les ?

Did Ben Marshall transfer from A to B Sqn during this period, could the Joe Foster picture be Ben.

Thought the chap behind Joe Foster looks a bit like Jim Eadsforth

I'll not argue about the "Scouse" bit, probably my memory going. I remember him being in assault troop and great friends with Fred Carroll and Johnny Spilling.
The chap with Joe Foster ,Eric Forrester, was in the same class as me at school, worked with me at the GPO in Blackpool and quite independently joined the army on the same day and the same regiment. We were gobsmacked when we met up at the station on our way to Catterick. He left in Perham Down. I still bump into him occasionally in Blackpool. He used to live quite near Pinky Lomas and Billy Lee but Waggy seems to think he may have moved now.

Terry Tasker was our SQMS at this time, Ben I can't remember being there. I just don't recognise the guy although the cap badge could be REME in which case I'd go for Mac Armstrong. It doesn't help that Joe was 3rd troop and Eric was with me in 2nd troop.

Ben was SQMS in Benghazi, don't know about Tripoli.

Remember being on an exercise and Ben going to trade a tin of compo biscuits for some eggs, with an arab. He came back "No Deal", but the arab had offered to trade his young daughter for the biscuits.
