CALGARY FLOODS

Just a thought concerning you Hawks that live in Calgary, have the floods been affecting your areas?, and has the Medicine Hat river overflowed again. I am sure that some of us remember the last bad flood when the Batus Staff all helped the civilian population to stem the flood tide, to such a great...

Re: Message From Robin Holland

Very sad news concerning Robins health. I first had the pleasure of meeting Robin when he taught some of us "oldies" how to speak basic German in Perham Down in 1966, up to taking over his Assault troop when he was on R and R at Gosford Castle. To me he was always THE MR COOL and I continu...

Re: Michael (Sticky) Stowell

RIP Sticky, you were certainly a character of remembrance. When you were my driver i often had to use a good strong chain to keep you in check, and know where you were. Sadly in later days you seem to become very anti establishment, however if it ever came to a firm Hawk supporter, you were always i...

Re: Help required....

It was a great pleasure to have served with Ernie in many parts of the world He was a very loyal Hawk, well humoured and concientious member of the squadron, a very good athlete who represented the squadron and the regiment in helping us to achieve high standards in many sports. Big Ernie was sadly ...

Re: Sir Richard James Dashwood, 9th Baronet

I was sad to read of thius cavalry officers passing, as Shep said, he was a real gentleman who always looked after his lads. I fondly remember him in 1970 , Singapore A sqn, taking our SHQ troop in two LWB landrovers on a coastal tour of Maylaya, during which we stayed for a night at a tea plantatio...

Re: Maggie Thatcher

Lady Thatcher did a hell of a lot for our country when she was PM, restoring pride and loyalty to the Union Jack
Like many other Hawks I was shocked when we heard of her resignation, whilst serving in Gulf War 1.

R I P maggie, you were a "one off "

Re: Car Grille Badges

I believe that many Hawks will be interested in the car badges, especially if they have a two pin security system, as previous enquiries were often made as to the procurement of this item during "shop" hours
