Re: Lonely here

Tony.
Yes! I looked after Centurions, Saracens and Conquerors for 3rd Troop (Wacker Preece's Boys). You probably recall Barry Tyson and Steve Fuller.

Phil.
Maybe I'll get a Facebook Greeting next year. Thanks for looking me up.

Re: Lonely here

I look in quite frequently, but have yet to find anyone who knows me! I served with LAD A Sqdn 1957 to December 1961 at Detmold and Hohne. I'm also on Facebook, but my birthday was not acknowledge, although I was remembered on this Forum (Sept 5th); Is a Facebook Greeting for Hussars only? Regards P...

Re: PARISH CHURCH OF ST LAWRENCE BARTON

Thanks Peter. I too was pleased to see the Remembrance Stones of the laying to rest especially of Bill Williams and Brian Stocker, with whom I served in the late 50's / early 60's, and of course the many others who served The Regiment. I often wondered what had happened to Brian although I had been ...

I recall Colonel Dan when he was a Second Lieutenant; even then he was exceptional. A true Gentleman.

capper-4.jpg . I think they all served with A Sqdn during the late 50's/early 60's; the NCO nearest is Jock Mullen; next could be REME welder, but his name(Taffy?) and that of the others fail me.

Re: Lunch Date.

Hi Bill. Sabratha was before my time, otherwise the result of the D'Arcy Cup Final might have been different!! :D :D I'm sure our paths did cross, however, as we were in neighbouring blocks at Hohne around 1957ish, before we moved to Celle and later to Detmold. At Detmold the LAD excelled at Footbal...

I did not have the pleasure of knowing Betty, but I did know Sid. He was my SSM at Hohne in the 50's.

Rest in Peace Betty.
