Re: Welcome to 2018

Thanks Pinky, I envy your being able to see the Northern Lights regularly. I know people who have spent a fortune to get up to north Norway and seen nothing. It is surely one of natures jewels and fills us with hope that we may one day get to see them properly. I shall be sure to keep you all posted...

Re: Welcome to 2018

Thanks Pete that is rather brilliant and will help us to plan, It will for sure NOT be this year as we are very involved preparing our patch for sale, there's an awful lot to do with the animals and machines and all of the usual handover formalities. I shall already pencil in next years dates and se...

Re: Welcome to 2018

Tony, I'm glad that John is in good hands AGAIN, how many times is it now ? I knew his first wife, though I can't remember her name any more, we were all together down in Lulworth. Is his new lass Yolander ? At least he was with her last time we had contact but I have lost his e-mail address somehow...

Re: Welcome to 2018

Hi Tony, thanks for wising me up, you are quite right, I was thinking of the Northern Reunion. I need a bit of time to sort out my plans but I will certainly earmark the Noahs Arc Reunion once the dates are out. Does your John go, we were good pals and it would be great to see him again. Much of my ...

Re: Welcome to 2018

Dear Arnie & Tony, our car is a 4x4 with a dif-lock: Kia Sorrento and can pull 3,5 tons, it's been used to pulling a double horse trailer and utterly reliable in spite of it's years. I would happily call it a Stalwart, like you two guys, great Stalwarts ! Following next winter in a warmer climat...

Welcome to 2018

Hi everybody, welcome to 2018 ! Upon applying for my various pensions, last year, 47 years after joining the army, it has become obvious that the accumulated pensions can not even cover the cost of our, modest, self-sufficiency lifestyle. And, if anybody thinks that we are going to work on, a bit lo...

Re: Kipling, Europe and Brexit

Dear Arnie, it's always a pleasure and very informative reading your replies. I entirely agree that Clinton would have been the worse option of the two. Thanks for the history lesson, it's important to know what caused things to go the way they have gone. Even Hitler and Stalin did not just appear, ...

Re: Kipling, Europe and Brexit

Arnie and all, after Trumps speech last night, I sort of wish I was a yankee, very powerful, this kind of language has been missing from modern politics for far too long. The problem is the american people and their way of seeing things, they truly believe that they have some kind of God given right...

Re: Kipling, Europe and Brexit

Hi everyone, please read the last five posts to follow this properly: I wonder if our friends in Australia or Canada can find any details ? I must say it stinks to high heaven that the press are manipulating the public by either publishing or suppressing news. That is NOT their duty, it is their dut...

Re: Kipling, Europe and Brexit

Hi Tony, not only are you amazed but me too ! I have just spent quite some time trying to get you some links, in English, to the details and they are indeed hard to find. What can I say, the press are not openly publishing FACTS that would give a negative impression. They want it to look as if Brexi...

Re: Kipling, Europe and Brexit

Tony, if these wankers were in my troop I would bang their heads together and throw them out of the window. I have mentioned before, somewhere, that I was never a very popular person, in or outside of the army; but I sure as hell always got the job done ! Those who have remained my friends are thems...

Re: Kipling, Europe and Brexit

Rick, Arnie, hibernation time over is it, Rick, good to see you back online this year, even if it's only to wish us well and blow away some of the fog that has been smoking us out; does, can anybody really grasp the situation ? Arnie, I have heard the name ... will have to look him up, sounds like a...

Re: Kipling, Europe and Brexit

On the two Tony's, Tony Binns, I think that you have it pretty well summed up, as far as anyone can read between the lines. The biggest problem is our own people, everyone wants immediate results but that's hardly ever realistic. Being a self-sufficiency farmer I am well aware that you reap what you...

Re: Kipling, Europe and Brexit

Well, well, well, could it be that Mrs May is achieving Mr Kipling's standards ... No you bone heads, not 'baking exceedingly good cakes' ... But doing exactly this: IF you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you, If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you...
